Εγκαταστάθηκε και τέθηκε με επιτυχία σε λειτουργία ο πρώτος στην Ελλάδα γραμμικός επιταχυντής VitalBeam™ στο Πανεπιστημιακό Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών «Αττικόν»
Χάρις στην ευγενική δωρεά του Ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος, το Πανεπιστημιακό Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών «Αττικόν» απέκτησε τον υπερσύγχρονο γραμμικό επιταχυντή VitalBeam™ του κατασκευαστικού οίκου Varian, που αποτελεί μια πραγματικά επαναστατική πλατφόρμα θεραπείας και ένα ανεκτίμητο όπλο στον αγώνα κατά του καρκίνου. Μέσα στους επόμενους μήνες, θα ακολουθήσει η εγκατάσταση και του δεύτερου VitalBeam™ στο Νοσοκομείο Αττικόν.
Η εταιρεία ΠΑΠΑΠΟΣΤΟΛΟΥ, η οποία είναι γνωστή για την εμπειρία και την αποτελεσματικότητά της στην εκτέλεση μεγάλων εξοπλιστικών προγραμμάτων (turn key projects), πραγματοποίησε με μεγάλη επιτυχία την προμήθεια και εγκατάσταση του ακτινοθεραπευτικού μηχανήματος VitalBeam™ στο Νοσοκομείο Αττικόν, καθώς και την εκπαίδευση του προσωπικού στη χρήση του.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="11/12"][vc_column_text]Για τις ανάγκες του συγκεκριμένου έργου, η εταιρεία ΠΑΠΑΠΟΣΤΟΛΟΥ κατασκεύασε εκ θεμελίων έναν ειδικά διαμορφωμένο και θωρακισμένο χώρο θεραπείας στο Νοσοκομείο με αίθουσα χειρισμού και ελέγχου από την οποία οι ιατροί μπορούν να έχουν πλήρη παρακολούθηση της λειτουργίας του ακτινοθεραπευτικού μηχανήματος.
Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι η προηγμένη αρχιτεκτονική του VitalBeam™ δίνει τη δυνατότητα θεραπείας ακόμα και των πιο δύσκολων κλινικών περιπτώσεων αποτελεσματικά και με ακρίβεια, με προηγμένο πολύφυλλο κατευθυντήρα MLC 5mm, πεδίο απεικόνισης 43χ43cm (MV), ενσωματωμένο σύστημα αξονικής τομογραφίας (CBCT) και απεικόνιση σε πραγματικό χρόνο κατά τη διάρκεια της θεραπείας. Το σύστημα ελέγχου Maestro που διαθέτει, βοηθάει να πραγματοποιηθούν οι θεραπείες συγχρονίζοντας και παρακολουθώντας συνεχώς όλες τις λειτουργίες του συστήματος σε περιβάλλον ολοκληρωτικής διασύνδεσης.
Ο γραμμικός επιταχυντής VitalBeam™, διαθέτει πολύ γρήγορο σύστημα καθημερινού ελέγχου (machine performance check), μοναδικό χαρακτηριστικό που το ξεχωρίζει ώστε να εξασφαλίζεται η ύψιστη ακρίβεια κατά την εκτέλεση των θεραπειών. Οι ρομποτικοί βραχίονες και ο μοντέρνος σχεδιασμός του καθιστούν πολύ εύκολο το χειρισμό του από την αίθουσα ελέγχου.
Επιπλέον, ο γραμμικός επιταχυντής VitalBeam™ συνοδεύεται από το Δίκτυο Διαχείρισης Δεδομένων και Εικόνων Aria, καθώς κι από το Σύστημα Σχεδιασμού Θεραπείας Eclipse, που πήρε την πρώτη θέση στο Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα Σχεδιασμού Θεραπείας.

Varian Eclipse Customers Take Top Overall Spots at World Championships of Treatment Planning

In addition to the top four and six of the top 10 positions in the overall category, Eclipse customers also had the top three scoring VMAT plans.

Professionals from over 30 countries all competed at the same time and were given four hours to create treatment plans, score them online, and submit their best effort. A description of the body site, physician prescription and the plan scoring algorithm were provided to participants in advance, and plan scoring was unbiased and objective, powered by the cloud-based ProKnow system. Physicist Jonathan Stenbeck of Greenville Health System utilized Eclipse to win top honors in the overall category, which was a combination of plan score and dose QA. "I am honored to have been awarded the highest overall scoring plan in the first World Championship of Treatment Planning," said Stenbeck. "With a time limit of only four hours to complete and submit the plan, it was exciting, but by utilizing Eclipse I was confident I could create a high-quality plan."
