The Encompass immobilization system for Stereotactic Radiosurgery of QFix is a device designed for targeted high-precision treatment to brain and head & neck.
The Encompass Immobilization system of QFix Stereotactic Radiosurgery consists mainly of the Encompass Board and the dual thermoplastic mask. The Encompass system offers high-precision immobilization for Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and is the only one validated by Varian for use with HyperArc. It provides immobilization for multiple lesions treatment with a single isocenter, while the Fibreplast thermoplastic mask has a face opening to reduce the patient’s tension and anxiety and to verify positioning using optical tracking system. The Encompass SRS mask is a thermoplastic mask reinforced with Kevlar, which makes it 50% more rigid than common thermoplastic masks. Also, variable perforation increases rigidness and reduces the bolus effect. For additional motion, it has the Mouth Bite (IntegraBite) option.
